Artistic Origami To the mathematicians and modern origamists origami is a puzzle. They see squares, triangles and rectangles that they can manipulate geometrically. They see competition as to who can develop the most intricate design. On the other hand the artistic origamists are more concerned with the figure's expressiveness and creativity. Origami as a hobby can be time-consuming if a person gets into the advanced forms of the art. There are different levels of origami from very basic to extremely complex. Little did you know that when you were making a paper airplane as a child, you were doing an origami project. This is an example of basic origami. Many people's interest in folding paper stops at the paper airplane. However for many other people, origami is quite fascinating. You want to be sure the children understand what they need to do and make sure you give them enough time to work it out themselves - don't jump in too quickly to help them. 6.
